Make today to build tomorrow

FLUX LABORATORY introduces itself to the Greek audience / Success in times of crisis
metamatic:taf has the pleasure to collaborate with Flux Laboratory, hosting the exhibition Make today to build tomorrow which opens on Thursday 14 January 2016 at 19.00 and will run until 5 February.
Flux Laboratory is an experimental cutlural centre based in Switzerland, specialized in performing arts and, particularly, in dance and performance. With the support of FLUXUM foundation, it fosters collaborations and dialogue between institutions and cultural players in relation to public or private initiatives.
Through the exhibition Make today to build tomorrow, Flux Laboratory introduces itself to the Greek public, aiming at sharing more than a decade of experience and knowhow in cultural projects in terms of inception and production. The exhibition presents a selection of its diverse archival activities that includes creations produced by more than 400 artists the past 12 years. The exhibition redefines the niche of social and human values in a world where economy prevails: how these values can find a place in our lives and how they can give meaning again in a workforce where they have been forgotten.
For the exhibition, Flux Laboratory will showcase the short film Make today to build tomorrow, created specifically for the subject by filmmaker Daphne Bengoa. This movie is a glimpse in the workspaces and craftsmanship of 7 Greek entrepreneurs, that proves that their artisanal way of working as well as the precision and punctuality are traits that a society undergoing a personality crisis is in need to function properly. As a juxtaposition to the pessimist image of contemporary Greece, a new generation of people develops their activities with dynamism in everyday efforts to succeed despite the crisis. These portraits constitute the starting point for a series of films that Daphne Bengoa and Flux Laboratory want to develop under the subject of entreprneurship in Greece.
The screening will be succeeded by a talk in which guests from various fields will participate, exchanging their views and analysing the challenges of this venture.
