The continued and systematic disappearance of local varieties of plants will soon lead to the point where it will be a luxury choice as to whether or not we want to consume genetically modified crops.
When the local varieties of agricultural plants disappear, our dietary choices will also vanish, as we will be nutritionally dependent on genetically modified crops.
As local and endemic varieties of plants become depleted or endangered, reliance upon genetically modified crops (GMC’s) can develop. The implications of this are manifold and worrying. Communities need to be awakened, so as to take measures against a situation that is dangerously organized and rooted in efforts to control the world’s dietary sources.
This possible development must be stopped before it is too late.
To combat this, we must recognise the importance of preserving local, endemic and unmodified agricultural plants.
